Three and a Half Decades of Ink
Tattoo Magic has been part of Southampton's Shirley tattoo scene for around 35 years, making us the city's longest-established tattoo studio. In that time we've tattooed thousands of clients, built a reputation on word of mouth, and racked up 292 reviews on Facebook — every single one recommending us.
Between our resident artists there's more than 80 years of combined tattooing experience, covering bold traditional flash, black & grey realism, fine line linework, colour work and cover-ups. Whether you're booking your first tattoo or your fiftieth, we treat every piece — big or small — with the same care.

How It Works
From first message to finished piece — four steps, sourced from our own studio guidance.
1. Get In Touch
Call the studio or send an enquiry with your design references, what you like about each one, where on the body you'd like it, roughly what size in centimetres, and whether you want colour, shading or outline only.
2. Secure Your Slot
A deposit is required for every appointment, no exceptions — payable by cash in studio or PayPal. Appointment times aren't held without one, and slots run first come, first served.
3. Artwork Is Prepared
No artwork is drawn until your appointment is booked, so the artist has time to prepare it properly. Changing your design idea needs a minimum of 24 hours' notice.
4. On The Day
Over-18s only, valid photo ID required — no exceptions. Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability, and every artist works from single-use, sterile equipment. [ADD: confirm current hygiene & sterilisation standards / licensing body for public-facing copy].

Getting a Quote

- Where on the body you'd like the tattoo
- Roughly what size, in centimetres

Deposits
- A deposit is required for every appointment, no exceptions
- Payable by cash in studio or PayPal
- Appointment times aren't held without a deposit
- Deposits are non-refundable without 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule
- Appointments run first come, first served
Artwork
- Send your tattoo ideas over when you book, so artists have time to prepare
- No artwork is drawn until an appointment is booked
- Changing your design idea needs a minimum of 24 hours' notice
- We'll confirm if your appointment slot still suits a new design
General Behaviour
- Zero tolerance for aggression towards our staff
- Please treat all staff with respect
- We're busy and reply as soon as we can — multiple messages won't speed that up
